Share Here are the steps to take to hide your status updates from one particular friend (or multiple friends) on Facebook without actually “unfriending” them. You may want to do this for some of the other elements of your profile such as wall posts (which is when your friends post things on your wall). Keep in mind this does not work for Facebook Fan Pages, this is only for Facebook profiles.
1. Log into Facebook
2. Hover over the “Settings” link in the blue bar up top and small drop-down menu will appear
3. Click on “Privacy Settings” and you will be directed to a new screen.
4. On the next page you’ll click on “Profile”
5. The 4th option down should say “Status and Links” and there’s a drop-down box to the right. Click the arrow in the drop-down box and select “Customize”
6. A little window should open and you’ll have the option at the bottom of that window to select who can see your status updates and links. You’ll want to add your friend’s name to the box at the very bottom where it says “Except these people”. Facebook should pull up that friend as you start to type the name. You’ll still be friends with them, but they won’t be about to see your status updates.
7. Click “Okay” and you should be all set. You can always return to that same place to add more people or remove that person in the future.
